Italy Enforces Strict MiCA Deadline for Crypto Platforms
Italy has set a hard deadline for crypto platforms to comply with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), signaling a decisive shift toward regulatory alignment. By December 30, 2025, all firms operating under Italy's current registration system must either secure a MiCA license or cease operations. The grace period for pending applications expires on June 30, 2026.
Non-compliant platforms face immediate shutdowns, mandatory contract terminations, and asset returns to customers. CONSOB emphasizes that only MiCA-licensed entities will retain market access post-deadline, marking a pivotal moment for Italy's crypto landscape.
